makes rae a dull girl. THAT’S why we make time for FUN . . . like a play date with the adorable CLARA ! we untangled jewelry, had lunch, took wilma for a walk, made note books, and did some watercolors. SO FUN. hope you got to do something fun this weekend, too.

i bought this beautiful ring in thirassia, greece. i was drawn to the burnt orange color and the simple setting. i always try to buy a small piece of jewelry on my travels. wearing it later seems to bring me back right to the place where it was purchased.

my new studio + shop will be open SOON ! i will be selling my own wares along with other things that i LOVE. i won’t officially be open until january 2013, but i will be doing a few days of open studios in december, before all of my equipment gets moved in. there will be a LOT of sale items at really low prices. out with the old . . . in with the new ! stay tuned for details.

simple + true.
it’s no secret that i LOVE food. i was raised in a household where food was extremely important and celebrated every day. it didn’t hurt that my dad was a master chef and took great pride in preparing elaborate dinners for the family every night. so how lucky am i to live near chez panisse ?! yesterday i met some of my favorite friends there for an impromptu lunch. it sounds so decadent in a way, as i usually reserve chez panisse for special occasions, but it really is just the best simple food made with the freshest ingredients and love, served in a homey environment. sans frills. just like it was growing up. so simple + true.
and here was my said lunch: housemade bucatini + clams. sensational.

the sweater girl.
it is finally feeling like fall and time to move the sweaters to the front of the closet. wilma HATES to wear clothes. whenever i put a sweater or a coat on her, she will stand there frozen for several minutes and pretend like she can’t walk. it’s only a treat that will eventually get her to move. but the sweater is not JUST for the cute factor, it really does help keep her warm !

my mom left me in the car while she went grocery shopping and she wasn’t very happy about what i did while she was gone. well . . . who WOULDN’T break into the zip lock bag of charlie bears that SHE left on the seat ? of COURSE i ate every single one of them, who wouldn’t ?
there BETTER be something good in those bags for ME !
