i’m starting to work on my next book (chronicle books) which will be a sketchbook from my sketchbooks of my trips to france ! i’m sorting through 100’s of sketches to see which ones will make the cut. a very daunting process but i’m so excited about this book ! it’s a dream come true.

squid. ink. pasta . . . this is one of my favorite things to eat and this version was NEVER BETTER. the ink was so black and it was SO savory. i actually painted in my sketchbook using the squid ink. i can’t wait to go back ! la barque bleue.

my most favorite thing to draw . . . desserts !
i’m packing up my work to set up my show tomorrow at ROSCOE CERAMIC GALLERY. it’s nice to see all the work together that i’ve made in the past four years. i’m going to have a hard time parting with many of them. i feel really attached to a lot of this work, especially since i hand carried them all back from france !
the opening for my show “made in france” is next friday october 3rd. please join me at the reception at ROSCOE CERAMIC GALLERY from 6:00 – 9:00. it will be a rare opportunity to purchase the work that i actually made in france . . . and it falls on the night of the oakland art murmur (so it should be a very lively night) !
