i saw this graffiti in berkeley today.
how true it is, in this game called “life” . . . love’s the only rule.
i have been fighting with this dark brown clay for months now. sometimes it works beautifully . . . and sometime THIS happens. no one can really figure out why. sadly, i am a very stubborn girl and i don’t give up that easily when i want something really badly. i love the look of this clay and i love working with it. i’m determined to figure this beast out and make him my friend.
oh là là !

wilma and i have learned that it is essential to take a break every few hours.
we spent the weekend in napa valley. it was ridiculously beautiful + relaxing, complete with mud baths, massages, biking, and lots of delicious food + wine. it always amazes me that all of this beauty is a mere 1.5 hours away from where we live. here are just a few snap shots of the weekend . . .

this was a rough sketch i did for a children’s line of wall art for my manufactured wares.
i have always loved indigo blue (the really dark shade) but have never attempted it because it seems so complicated and you need the right space and tools. but on a whim, i decided to use fabric dye on some of my clothes that had stains or were colors that i didn’t like anymore. SO SATISFYING ! and i love how each piece is a different shade of indigo depending on what color it was to start with. i suddenly have a new wardrobe.
