and eating it TOO . . . well, starting on january 1, 2011. i have decided to go on a ‘custom order hiatus’ . . . it’s actually more like a ‘creative sabbatical.’ i find that MOST of my time in the studio is spent filling custom orders. and though i do love making things for people that they actually want, my creative soul is not being fed and i feel like a machine making the same things over and over and over again. this is starting to make me feel resentful, dissatisfied, and dead inside ! SO, what this means is that (with the exception of a few items) i will no longer be taking custom orders or new wholesale accounts (starting in 2011). i plan to be on this sabbatical for 3 months, or forever . . . though i will continue selling wares on my online store. hopefully you will begin to see some new items appearing there.
i am SO looking forward to being creative again, making non functional sculptural work, working on the wheel, making really BIG things, taking classes, painting, wandering the streets, eating more cake, etc . . . below is my custom order binder from the past few months. looking at it everyday gives me a big stomach ache. i can’t wait for my INBOX to be EMPTY !
