one of my new year’s resolutions is to eat lunch regularly. my new studio is very conducive for this, as i’ve set up a “dining area.” in the old days, i would skip lunch altogether or eat it at my work table, glaze dripping down my arm, and simultaneously eat while continuing to work. BAD MANNERS. i now look forward to my actual lunch break and having a civilized lunch . . . bon appétit !

we are celebrating christmas in mexico this year. it feels very strange being in 80 degree weather and eating tropical fruits . . . but i’m NOT complaining !
mexican food is definitely one of my favorite food groups ! here are some of the beautiful meals i have had here in mexico . . .
here is another sweet package i received in the mail. there is nothing better than home baked cookies. the spirit of giving is at an all time high. despite the stress and chaos this time of year can bring, i think people, in general, are extra sweet in december.
my top V.I.P. customer sent me this beautiful bottle of wine. it’s acts of kindness like this that make my job TOTALLY worth it. and with all of the mailing OUT of packages i’ve been doing this season, it felt so odd to actually receive a package in the mail. such a nice surprise. cheers.

it’s no secret that i LOVE food. i was raised in a household where food was extremely important and celebrated every day. it didn’t hurt that my dad was a master chef and took great pride in preparing elaborate dinners for the family every night. so how lucky am i to live near chez panisse ?! yesterday i met some of my favorite friends there for an impromptu lunch. it sounds so decadent in a way, as i usually reserve chez panisse for special occasions, but it really is just the best simple food made with the freshest ingredients and love, served in a homey environment. sans frills. just like it was growing up. so simple + true.
and here was my said lunch: housemade bucatini + clams. sensational.
