i’ve started a new sketching project for 2017: sketch du jour (a sketch a day . . . yes, EVERY day !). i will be documenting these sketches on my instagram page, mostly so that i will be accountable. they are just quick sketches but still, wish me luck !
you can keep up with them here.
i have always LOVED the first day of the year. it feels fresh, clean and full of possibility. such innocence graces the air. i like to start the year slowly and with sense of calm . . . hoping that it stays with me throughout the year.
begin.
this time of the year tends to be fraught with stress, busy-ness, sickness, anger, etc . . . lets face it, the world is not in a great place. but i’m trying to remind myself to “be merry,” for there is still a lot of GOODNESS in the world.
be merry.
i’m pleased to reveal the cover of my upcoming book, “France: Inspiration du Jour” (chronicle books). this is my next book which is a compilation of sketches and photos that i have taken during my sojourns in france. this book is very close to my heart and feels incredibly revealing, as i had never intended for anyone to see my personal sketchbook (let alone to actually have it published !?) . . . but i’m very much into stepping out of my comfort zone. this book will be out on may 2nd, but you can pre-order it NOW here. and you can also get a sneak peek of the inside HERE.
it’s hard to believe that christmas is in just ONE WEEK ! this was the scene on maiden lane in san francisco. definitely the calm before the storm, before last minute shoppers head out with reckless abandon to find that perfect gift . . . ho. ho. ho.
